How to size industrial washers for hotels and resorts
Hotel washer selection connects textile volume to the available processing window. Learn which operating data to collect, how to establish a workload target and what to ask before specifying equipment.
Choosing an industrial washer for the actual workload
Assess the workload
Start with measured dry textile weight per day, textile groups and return deadlines. Hotels, resorts, commercial laundries and uniform operations can have similar daily weights but different batch requirements. Room count or staff count alone is not enough to specify washer capacity.
Compare equipment under matching conditions
Compare the published capacity, mounting requirements, extraction data, controls and dosing options. Include loading and unloading in a trial cycle and plan for equipment downtime. A kilogram rating alone does not describe the throughput of a complete laundry.
Prepare for installation
Prepare room dimensions, delivery access, water and drain information, available heating services and electrical supply for a model-specific installation review.
Before you buy
One large washer or several smaller washers?
It depends on textile separation, deadlines, space and resilience. Multiple machines can separate batches, but their combined utility demand and operating costs must also be assessed.

A starting calculation for planning
If measured dry laundry is 240 kg per day and the processing window is eight hours, the average target is 240 ÷ 8 = 30 kg per hour. This is a workload target, not an equipment specification. Programme times, batch separation, handling and drying and finishing capacity still need to be assessed.
Separate textile groups may create partial loads. Build a batch schedule and trial representative textiles before confirming machine quantities and capacities.
Before requesting a quotation
- Record workloads and return deadlines across both lighter and busier days.
- Prepare room dimensions, site photographs and available utility information.
- Specify textiles, item dimensions and required results; request a trial where appropriate.
- Clarify options, installation scope, operator training and service terms.
